Macys, the brand behind the famous perfume, Kinky Boots, is showing signs of recovery after a period of weakness.
The Macys brand sales in the second quarter of 2018 rose by 3.7% compared to the same period last year, according to an analyst report from RBC Capital Markets.
The growth in sales is attributed to improved sales of Kinky Shoes, which had a strong holiday season, and the Macys fragrance, which is selling well at home.
RBC’s Kevin Clark said that the sales of both Macys and Kinky were “shooting up” and that they will continue to be strong in the future.
The company’s sales grew by 3% and 2% in Q2, respectively.
Macys also posted a profit in the quarter, as well.
Macs sales are down in some markets, but are expected to increase in the coming months, as the company seeks to expand its presence in the Asian market.
Macys is now the second-biggest perfume brand in the world behind the LVMH-owned Saint Laurent.
Kinky Boots has sold well in some countries, particularly in Japan.
It is also working with some international brands on its fragrance line, including an English version of Kinks classic The Old Lady.
According to RBC, the Macies brand is also growing its sales in China.
The report added that the company has now reached 100 million active users in China, up from just 10 million a year ago.
Macy’s sales are expected rise by 4% in 2018.
